Mountain biking in Blue River
Borrow a bike program
Bikes for all ages (with helmets) are available for unlimited use at the campground for kids. Adults are invited to use them for grocery shopping, going out for a bite to eat or even a leisurely ride around town.
The adult bikes can also be rented for a small fee if you want them for longer than an hour or so. There are many easy trails and roads that will lead you through beautiful, untouched Blue River scenery. Bike to the River Safari to take their tour and have a bite of lunch at their dockside cafe.
Cross-country mountain biking
Take one of our town and country bikes out for a short jaunt to the to the River Café at Mud Lake and enjoy lunch in the restaurant at the River Safari Tour dock. An easy flat ride of 3+ km through scenic wilderness.
Blue River`s well developed trail system has hosted mountain bike races and mountain bike skill development camps over the years. There is a good range of beginner, intermediate and expert trails to suit all levels of riding. Most of the trails start at the campground or are very close by.
- One of our best rides is the old race course, which features the “Green Mile” and the Chef’s Mile with its very fast and “flowy” sections. This loop (suitable for advanced intermediate riders) is 14 km long, with 6% avg. incline and 220m of vertical climbing.
- Cruel hill climbs for mountain goats are at White River 7km, 8% average climb, 500m vertical, Waikiki, Mount St. Anne or White Rock.
- Ride into Murtle Lake (50 km) and have a picnic at the lagoon.
